Only 35 minutes from Brisbane CBD and 15 minutes from Ipswich CBD.</p>\n<p>Take a stroll to the bird viewing deck and then meander along the water front where you will find ideal fishing and picnic spots. Next time we will take with us a bottle of sparkling, fruit and cheese platter and relax reading a book in one of the many secluded areas.</p>\n<p>From time to time you can hire kayaks, or you can just bring your own. If you are game, take a refreshing swim. But, be mindful of local natural hazards. It is a tidal area, so there is shallow water, bull sharks, stone fish etc.</p>\n<p>There is plenty of area for dogs, and from time to time horses will canter through. On the day we came to Colleges Crossing a couple of horses came cantering past.</p>\n<p>The reserve is affected by floods and millions of dollars have been spent on the rebuild since 2011.</p>\n<p>Park hours are 6am to 9pm.</p>\n<p>It is truly a lovely area to relax with family and friends, and if you are really lucky you will see the resident hawk gliding and diving for dinner.
